Saint James' Way

The Inland Route of Saint James' Way crosses Álava. Pilgrims took this way for its relative ease and more benign climate. Saint James' Way enters Álava by the San Adrián Tunnel.

You enter Rioja Alavesa by Zambrana, passing through Salinillas de Buradón, a historical point on the plains of Álava and Rioja. The route goes on through Briñas towards Haro and the nearby towns.
