Eguren Ugarte Family
The Eguren Ugarte family began grape growing thanks to Anastasio Eguren, great-great grandfather of our founder, Victorino.
1870.- Dionisio Eguren began to work its vineyards and to make its own wines in La Rioja.
1957.- Its grandson and present patriarch of the family, Anastasio Jesus Victorino Eguren, of strong enterprising character, founded a warehouse that let grow with illusion, work and much effort.
Eguren Ugarte · Páganos1957.- Helped by its family - its parents, their wife and her brother-in-law Martin Cendoya- the business was prospering and D. Victorino, that began its professional work like vinatero, happened to be a famous owner of a wine cellar in very few years. With great vision of future it began to sell prepared the wine of La Rioja that until that date was sold only in bulk.
1985.- the present facilities of Winerys Eguren in the Avenue of the Cantabrian of Vitoria - Gasteiz were opened
1989.-
D. Victorino rose, with a project realised by its son, architect Koldo Eguren, a new warehouse in Laguardia.

Victorino EgurenInfected and encouraged by the spirit of Victorino, its children - Mercedes, Asun and Koldo- have assumed the generational relief watching the future and modernizing the work procedures, but knowing to maintain the traditions and the root to that earth where the vineyards of which the warehouse is provided are able to offer the best grapes and to transform themselves into wines of exceptional quality.
